To Do List
Now that I have been accepted to UHV, what are my next steps?
- Get to know JagSpace
JagSpace is a single sign-on hub where all online student services (student email, myUHV) can be accessed.
- Apply for financial aid
Paying for college can be expensive. Fortunately, there is a lot of assistance available to students; all you need to do is apply.
- Reserve a room at Jaguar Hall
Note: All incoming freshmen are required to attend class in Victoria and stay in Jaguar Village. You can learn about residential life and reserving your room by visiting the housing page.
- Meet your Success Coach and register for classes
Each freshman will be assigned to a Student Success Coach. Coaches will advise you on which classes to take (for the first 45 hours of your program), offer tips to help you in class and much more.
- Attend New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation is a great opportunity for you (and your family) to learn what it means to be a Jaguar. You will have the chance to meet your future classmates and get information about how to succeed at UHV.
- Pay your tuition and fees balance after financial aid and any waivers are applied
- Buy your textbooks
Most textbooks can be purchased, rented or downloaded (ebooks).
- Move into Jaguar Village
New residential students can begin moving into their rooms the Thursday prior to the first day of class (see calendar).
- Order your Paw Pass
Not only does your Paw Pass serve as your official student ID, you also will need it for library access, meals and access in and out of the residence halls.
- Get ready for Jaguar Journey and Welcome Weekend.
