Component II: Building Community and Improving Student Access Through Improved Distance Learning Systems
Component II will focus on building community between CBC and UHV professionals through improvement of the distance learning infrastructure and the development and delivery of joint faculty training towards three levels of distance learning instructor skills certifications. This component will consist of three phases.
Phase I: Get Ready
The distance learning support staff at CBC and UHV prepare for the distance learning academies through professional development, new
equipment purchases, and development of training curriculum.
Phase II: Get Set
Each year, 20 faculty (10 from each institution) will participate in a series of academies aimed to improve the
delivery of distance education courses.
Phase III: Go
Faculty will redesign or develop distance learning courses. Completion of training will yield stipends and
equipment/software for faculty to use in their course offerings.
