CBC Cougar Connections
Preparing to attend college can be a daunting task for students. The application process, financial aid, and admission requirements, as well as being successful in college and making career choices can discourage students before they even begin their first college class. Cougar Connections is designed to alleviate this stress and provide students with the information necessary to not only apply for college, but to be successful in their college career.
How it works
A team from CBC will visit selected area high schools to provide a checklist and information to students regarding CBC test schedules, programs offered at CBC, vouchers for a free ACCUPLACER (State of Texas alternative exam), and instruction for completing the financial aid application.
Area 1 students will be guided through the FAFSA website, acquire a PIN #, and begin the financial aid application process.
Area 2 students will be guided through a step-by-step process of completing a college admissions form.
Area 3 students will be provided with information critical to access and success in higher education.
Additionally, the CBC Financial Aid staff will conduct workshops during February and March of each year. This portion of Cougar Connections is completed when every senior has the opportunity to submit the FAFSA to the institution of his or her choice.
Financial Aid Information
Staff from the CBC financial aid department will be visiting the following locations to assist students and parents with the completion of the FAFSA (financial aid application):
