CBC Cougar Bridges
Cougar Bridges is the ‘first-year experience’ for freshman college students. In this phase of Component I, 30-40 eligible students will be recruited each year to participate in various Cougar Bridges activities throughout the long semester.
During the fall, students will
- enroll in a Fundamentals of Grammar and Composition, and Applied Psychology Learning Community
- have individual meetings with a counselor/advisor
- have 2 meetings with a peer mentor
- attend Cougar Bridges Transfer Conference
- participate in extracurricular activities
During the spring, students will
- enroll in English Composition and Grammar (English 1301) and Education Frameworks (Education 1300) classes
- have individual meetings counselor/advisor
- have 2 meetings with a peer mentor
- participate in visits to four year colleges
- participate in extracurricular activities
During the summer, students will
- have individual meetings with the counselor/advisor
- complete transfer preparation
