Miller Analogies Test (MAT)

The University of Houston-Victoria is a testing site for the Miller Analogies Test (MAT). The Academic Center offers the computer-based version of the MAT, and examinees have one hour to complete the test.

If you are interested in taking the MAT, please complete the following steps:

  1. Call the Academic Center at (361) 570-4285 or stop by the Academic Center at RM 129 in the University West Building to make an appointment. Candidates are strongly encouraged to make an appointment and pay for the test as far in advance as possible, since seating in the testing room is limited.
  2. The exam costs $70, which is due before taking the test. Cash, check, or money order is accepted.
  3. Bring a valid photo ID on the day of the test. Examinees will not be allowed to test without providing one of the following valid IDs: state-issued driver’s license or identification card, military ID, passport.

Things to Know Before Taking the MAT

Cell phones (and other electronic communication devices) are not permitted in the testing room. Examinees should leave cell phones at home or in a vehicle. An examinee who uses a cell phone or has a cell phone that rings during the test session will be dismissed. The scores may be voided, and testing fees will not be refunded.

Examinee will receive a preliminary report of their results, and official scores will be mailed to examinees within 15 days. The Academic Center testing staff cannot interpret the test results.

Because testing space is limited and oftentimes in high demand, the $70 testing fee is non-refundable. MAT tests can only be rescheduled without forfeiting testing fees if examinees contact the Academic Center at least 24 hours before their appointments.
