Why Study Abroad?
- Expand your horizons
- Prepare for a career
- Celebrate diversity
- Cultural awareness
The Program in Taiwan is just one effort by UHV to project leadership in providing new opportunities for quality study abroad experiences for students not only at UHV, but at other interested universities, particularly in Texas. Increasingly, today's global economy requires that all undergraduates, whatever their major, have exposure and knowledge of other cultures and languages.
The Taiwan program has the comprehensive goal of providing students with a study abroad experience that will prepare them to successfully participate in the global economy and positively impact their ability to make intelligent career choices. Experience and research have identified the most important elements of successful study abroad programs.
The time spent in Taiwan is approximately 16 days departing from Houston on July 13 and returning on July 31 2013. The program will be based in two cities, Taipai and Taichung and will include three business field trips and at least four half or full day tours which are included in the program fee. The total Taiwan program cost comprises the following four parts:
$900$600 Program fee (includes lodging on a double occupancy basis, meals, ground transportation in Taiwan, 3 field trips and all prescribed tours.) The program price has been reduced thanks to a discount provided by our Taiwan University partners.
UHV 3-credit-hour tuition – standard tuition and fees apply
- Required travel insurance: ISIC card basic coverage or equivalent.
Airfare (approx. $1800 - $2100 from Houston)
UHV will collect the first 2 parts and the student will pay for (3) and (4) directly to the vendor. UHV will recommend a preferred travel agency for airline ticket purchase.
