Study Abroad

Curriculum

The University of Houston-Victoria, along with its consortium partners, is excited to announce our study abroad program in Taipei, Taiwan. Each year we will arrange for students to study in the heart of one of the most exciting cities in the world. Students will take a course in ECO 6300 Special Topics in Managerial Economics: IT manufacturing in the World Supply Chain (Taiwan Study)

Classes will be twelve to fifteen student.

  • Each student will take one class and receive three credit hours. Classes will operate on a seminar style format with all students actively participating in discussions with their professor. Class will be three days in Houston and the rest of the three weeks in Taiwan. Students enrolling in a class will be provided with a syllabus before they leave the United States. Term project, presentation, and peer evaluation must be completed for a student to receive a final grade.

  • Although each class schedule will ultimately rest with the professor of record, classes will typically run Monday through Thursday. Attendance at ALL class sessions for the FULL CLASS PERIOD is expected. Absence in class is not tolerated, and will result in your grade being lowered.

  • Short term program (3 weeks) students will take the course listed below.

A variety of cultural enrichment and volunteer activities insure that students receive a complete immersion in all social layers and economic strata of the host cultures are included.
