UHV Student Organizations
African Student Association – The African Student Association (ASA) is a cultural organization committed to the integration of African students on campus. African Student Association works to promote African culture by educating the campus and bringing all African students and well-wishers of African culture together as one.
Alliance – Alliance supports LGBTQ and Allies within the campus community and provides resources, information, and engagement to anyone who wants to become involved in the LGBTQ and Ally community.
Artists Anonymous – Artists Anonymous (AA) is a club comprised of anyone interested in arts and all creative mediums (design, drawing, painting, typography, writing, etc.).
Baptist Student Ministry – The Baptist Student Ministry exists to reach students with the gospel. It seeks to provide a place where students can be known and encouraged during their collegiate years. Free lunch is offered every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the ministry across from the VC/UHV library.
Bible Praying Jags – Bible Praying Jags is an organization that’s purpose is to support students in understanding the word of God by reading the bible and praying.
Black Student Union – The Black Student Union (BSU) is an educational, cultural, political, social, and community service organization whose mission is to enhance the experience and address the needs of Black students, give them voice and power in the community, and create a safe space to promote friendship and solidarity among black students while bridging gaps between communities.
Business Student Association – The Business Student Association (BSA) seeks to promote business education by providing students with the opportunity to interact with local business leaders and to network with other business students.
Diversity Council – The Diversity Council is a non-profit, umbrella organization for multicultural programming sponsored by the Department of Student Life and Services. The goal of the Diversity Council is to create a positive environment for individuals who face adversity on the basis of age, culture, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or social status. By challenging discrimination through education, the Diversity Council aims to supply a stepping stone toward a more inclusive environment for the University of Houston-Victoria community.
Gamma Beta Phi – Katy - Gamma Beta Phi is an honor and service organization for students in colleges and universities in the United States. Its name is derived from the initial letters (Γ Β Φ) of the Greek words for education, life, and friendship. It signifies that education and friendship constitute the basis of a full and happy life.
Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity – The Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity is an organization based on serving the community. The mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Habitat for Humanity builds houses that are simple, decent, and affordable to low-income families around the world.
Hispanic Student Association – The Hispanic Student Association (HSA) encourages and raises awareness of Hispanic cultures on campus and in the Victoria community by creating and promoting cultural events.
History and Humanities Association – The History and Humanities Association enhances a student's knowledge of all types of historical and cultural events through social events, opportunities for educational experiences outside of the classroom, and chances to learn more about the community in which they live.
Jaguar Activities Board – The Jaguar Activities Board (JAB) is a non-profit, umbrella organization for campus activities sponsored by the Department of Student Life and Services. JAB serves as a real-world professional development opportunity for its student members. It is the goal of JAB to enhance students’ co-curricular experience by providing unique and exciting entertainment and programming opportunities to reach, energize, and invigorate the entire student body.
Jags After Christ – Jags After Christ (JAC) is an organization that creates a place for students that allows them to grown in all areas of their life with friendship and faith as the core.
Jaguar Cheer Team – The Jaguar Cheer Team is a co-curricular activity that supports a student's academic career. As a member of Jaguar Cheer Team, it allows its member to continue to be a responsible, mature, and independent adult and will maximize their own opportunity for student growth, change, and leadership, support the intercollegiate athletics of UHV, and lead in a positive, vocal support for the teams.
Math and Science Club – The Math and Science Club is an organization that provides students with opportunities to broaden and enrich their participation in the world of mathematics and science.
National Society of Leadership and Success – The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is an organization that helps people discover and achieve their goals. The Society offers life-changing lectures from the nation's leading presenters and a community where like-minded, success-oriented individuals come together and help one another succeed.
Nu Gamma Nu – Nu Gamma Nu is an honor society for students of the biological sciences. Its activities stimulate interest, scholarly attainment, and investigation in the biological sciences, and promote the dissemination of information and new interpretations among students of the life sciences.
Phi Epsilon Kappa - Phi Epsilon Kappa Fraternity is a national professional fraternity for persons engaged in or pursuing careers in physical education, health, recreation, dance, human performance, exercise science, sports medicine and sports management.
Pre- Health Student Association – The Pre-Health Student Association (PHSA) creates a sense of community for all students pursuing pre-health careers, to orient students about the requirements needed to apply and succeed in their health school of choice, and to deepen students’ understanding of the pre-health field.
Resident Hall Association – The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is a non-profit, elected, governing body for the residence halls here at UHV. The purpose is to promote communication between the Department of Residence Life and the residents.
Rotaract Club – Rotaract is an organization that provides community service opportunities, develops the leadership and professional skills of members, and introduces its members to fellow UHV students and leaders within the community.
Spreading Motivation In Lives Everywhere – Spreading Motivation in Lives Everywhere (SMILW) is a community organization that strives to provide free educational, recreational, and social programs to children who are at-risk medically, socioeconomically, or in any other way.
Student Government Association – The Student Government Association (SGA) is a nonprofit, elected, governing body whose purpose is to promote communications between constituents of UHV, to enhance the unique educational environment of UHV, and to address specific needs of students in order to provide a voice to and for the student body with respect to academic and cultural matters.
Student Music Organization – The Student Music Organization serves students with any musical opportunity they may request and supports them in their musical endeavors.
The International Honor Society in Psychology (Psi Chi) – The International Honor Society in Psychology (Psi Chi) is an international honor society that encourages, stimulates, and maintains excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and advances the science of psychology.
United Campus Ministry –The United Campus Ministry is a religious organization where students can enjoy each other and express their beliefs in a safe haven.
