Donald Jirkovsky has joined the staff of UHV Small Business Development Center. He is also the owner of Lighthouse Development Resources, LLC, where his duties include small business coaching and professional development. He received his professional coaching certification from the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching specializing in the area of business coaching. He coaches entrepreneurs with business start-ups and assist small businesses in discovering solutions to improve their performance. He also provides professional development to small businesses in leadership, communications and change management. Donald retired as a manager in operations and management from a large state agency. He assisted in the organizational restructuring of the agency’s support services and was selected to work on a team with a change management firm to help develop a project management office for the agency. He graduated Suma Cum Laude from the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) with a BBA in management and was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He continues to serve as a volunteer in several capacities at the University of Houston-Victoria School of Business. He is past president of the Greater Victoria Toastmasters and Vice-President of the Victoria Northside Rotary where he is involved in the Early Act of First Knight character development program in elementary schools.
