Selection Timeline
For the Application

Each system and independent university may establish its own
schedule for advertising and reviewing nominees for the
position of student regent. In 2005, the first year of the
position, the schedule will be adjusted to enable
recommendations to be forwarded to the Governor prior to
December 1, 2005.

Five applicants are
selected as the student government’s recommendations on
each campus and forwarded to the president or chancellor |

Two or more applicants,
from among the five recommended by each student
government, are selected by the system
chancellor/independent public university president and
recommended to the Governor. |

February 1 |
Governor appoints a
student regent for a one-year term expiring the following
January 31 |
Applicants are required to complete all of the questions on
the application form. Letters of recommendation should not be
included. When the application is complete, submit the entire
application and attachments by the time and date and to the
address specified by your university, either by mail or in
person. Electronic or fax transmissions will not be accepted.
