The Division of Business Administration prepares students for entry level and professional position in business. Such an education provides an opportunity to:

orange.gif (289 bytes)   Understand and integrate knowledge from the functional areas of business (accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing, and statistics).
orange.gif (289 bytes)   Demonstrate an awareness of legal, economic, social, ethical, political, regulatory, environmental, technical and global issues.
orange.gif (289 bytes)   Develop effective oral and written communication skills.
orange.gif (289 bytes)   Use electronic technology for common business purpose and as a research tool.
orange.gif (289 bytes)   Demonstrate skills in critical thinking, decision-making, leadership, creativity, and teamwork.

orange.gif (289 bytes)   Demonstrate an awareness of the impact of diversity on organizations.
 General Business Concentration

Student completing the General Business concentration should be able to:

orange.gif (289 bytes)   Understand basic accounting, economic, finance, management, statistical, quantitative management, and marketing principles.
orange.gif (289 bytes)   Develop some depth of knowledge in accounting, management, international business, marketing, and/or finance.
orange.gif (289 bytes)   Ability to solve business problems with a basic understanding of the functional area of business.

 Management Concentration

Educational outcome for students who complete the management major include the following:

orange.gif (289 bytes)   Ability to analyze business situations, make intelligent, informed suggestions regarding key issues, and effectively present their result.
orange.gif (289 bytes)   Apply basic motivational and leadership theories to common work situations.
orange.gif (289 bytes)   Display basic knowledge of pertinent human resource policies.

The assessment results are reviewed by the program faculty and the Curriculum Planning/Assessment Steering Committee. Recommendations of relevant curriculum changes are made.
