Academic Council Minutes, August 16, 2006I. Minutes --Approved as circulated II. General Agenda
--Trudy Wortham reported UHV had experienced a problem receiving applications due to the current system of assigning the 6-digit student ID numbers. Once PeopleSoft has been implemented, this will not be an issue since student id numbers will be assigned sequentially. She also provided a statistical application breakdown by schools on applied and accepted student count, as well as a paid and unpaid enrollment count. The Council agreed on a PeopleSoft business process of a placeholder grade of “NG” for instructors that do not enter their grades online by the deadline. The “NG” grade will remain until a grade change form has been submitted for each student. PeopleSoft will allow graduate credit for undergraduate students within 12 hours of graduation but the student will not get graduate credit until they have earned their degree.
