II.  General Agenda 

  • Data Collection

--The registrar reported 1,461 students so far for summer—137 ahead of last year this time. 

  • Instructional Technology/Online Issues and Updates

--Eric Mims was present to discuss:   

a.       Printer issues and options.  Opinion of Council was that laser black and white would do if there were shared access to color printing conveniently available.

b.      Laptop options.  Opinion was that we should standardize on a couple of options.

c.       Wireless access.  This will be set up campus wide and will require an account to use it.

III.   Specific Agenda 

·        Student Matters 

--A student appeal was denied--related to the final grade assigned for inappropriate test behavior.  

  • Faculty Development Requests and Reports

--Approved a development grant for conference presentation ($200) to Dr. Massoud Metghalchi to The 2005 Global Business and Finance Research Conference, in London, England, in July.

--Accepted a grant funded conference travel report from Dr. Harold Smith and a research grant funded report from Dr. Judy Johnson.  

  • Other

--Dr. Jaeckle will bring a recommendation to the Faculty Senate in the fall to clarify the place of History in the core requirements.
