II. General Agenda
--2412 students were paid as of the date, one more than last fall.
--Joe Ferguson indicated that anti-spam software was being reviewed. Cost would be $11,000 per year.
--Ron Sardessai reported that President Hudson had met with Fort Bend faculty at the Sugar Land center for a good meeting with a good turnout. III. Specific Agenda
--A student request to be graduated under her existing degree plan despite a hiatus in attendance was approved.
--Approved a development grant for conference presentation ($1,000) to Dr. Judy Johnson to the 2004 Annual Convention of National Academy of Neuropsychology, in Seattle, WA, in November. --Approved a development grant for conference presentation ($1,000), pending receipt of a FY 04 report, to Dr. June Lu to the 2004 International Association for Computer Information Systems Conference, in Cancun, Mexico, in October. --Approved a development grant for conference presentation ($1,000) to Dr. Massoud Metghalchi to the 2004 Annual Meeting of the Association for Global Business, in Cancun, Mexico, in November. --Approved a development grant for conference presentation ($1,000) to Dr. Marie Plemons to the Association of Childhood Education International Conference and Exhibition, in Washington, D.C., in March. --Approved a development grant for conference presentation ($1,000) to Dr. David Summers, pending receipt of a FY 04 report, to the Mountain Plains Management Conference, in Grand Junction, CO, in October. --Approved a development grant for conference presentation ($1,000) to Dr. Chun-Sheng Yu to the 2004 International Association for Computer Information Systems Conference, in Cancun, Mexico, in October. --Approved a request of Dr. T. T. Rajan Selvarajan, for a research grant ($800) for an empirical exam of the influence of the nature of ownership and the manager education in reducing power distance in Indian organizations. --Approved a request of Dr. Siva Somasundaram, for a research grant ($1,000) for research investigating molecular mechanisms of dietary supplement lutin and capsaicin on Human Prostate cancer cell line. --Accepted grant funded research reports from Drs. Richard Gunasekera and Jifu Wang.
--Council members reviewed an agreement for joint admissions between UHD and North Harris/Montgomery College (similar to UHV dual admissions agreements but more detailed). DNS/kw |
