  • Information Technology

--Joe Ferguson indicated that faculty were being shifted to Outlook and that the entire conversion, less a few exceptions, should be done by mid July.

--The appeal of a student to be admitted despite three suspensions at a prior institution was approved, given that the student was in good standing and was completing an AA degree at that institution.

--The appeal of a student for waiver of the TASP was denied, in that the institution has no authority to make such waivers.

  • Faculty Development Grants

--Approved the request of Dr. Yong Glasure for submission and printing fees ($70) to the Southwestern Journal of Economics.

--Approved the request of Dr. Nora Hutto for a travel grant ($1,100) to present at the National Professors of Educational Administration, in Burlington, VT, in August.

--Approved early the request of Dr. Diane Prince for a travel grant ($404) to serve as a panel discussant at the Texas Center for Educational Technology's 8th Annual Teaching and Learning Symposium, in San Antonio, TX, in June.

--Approved the request of Dr. David Satava for a submission fee ($50) to the Mountain Plains Journal of Business and Economics.

  • Other

--The institutional policy on instructors' withdrawal of student was discussed.  No changes were recommended.  However, it was recommended that faculty be encouraged to consult with the dean when contemplating a withdrawal that could become contentious.
