Other Items Summer Sabbatical --Discussed two requests for summer research grant (summer sabbatical). Since a regular sabbatical was also requested, postponed decision on the summer research grant till the faculty committee has made its recommendation on the regular sabbatical request. Enrollment Data Needs --MaryAnn Rivera and Trudy Wortham were present to consider how best to respond to enrollment data needs discussed at the last meeting of the council. They will prepare a draft format and share it with the deans. Scheduling of ITV Rooms --Discussed whether ITV rooms on campus need to be assigned for priority scheduling to each school. Since Education schedules in the 400-700 slot and Arts and Sciences and Business Administration schedules in the 700-1000 slot and since a fourth ITV room will be available in January, campus scheduling was considered less a problem than Fort Bend, where four institutions compete for the available rooms. Reports on Meetings --The provost reported on recent meetings in Houston with the CampusNet Steering Committee, Provosts' Council, and Sugar Land staff. A task force is working on policy to address articulation of courses among UHS institutions. Also, proctoring is an increasing demand and creates issues of staffing and space. DNS/kw |
