Faculty Development Grants

--Approved a request of Dr. Estella De Los Santos for a travel grant ($600) to present at the Southwest Educational Research Association 2001 annual meeting in, New Orleans, LA, in February 2001.

--Approved a request of Dr. Nora Hutto for a travel grant ($1,100) to present at the National Conference on Education, American Association of School Administrators in, Orlando, FL, in February 2001.

--Approved the requests of Dr. Colleen Logan for travel grants ($1,100 and $600) to present at the American Counseling Association Learning Institutes, in San Antonio, TX, in March; and to co-present at the 2001 American School Counselor Association Conference, in Portland, OR, in June 2001.

--Approved the requests of Dr. Mary Natividad for travel grants ($1,100 and $600) to co-present at the 2001 American School Counselor Association Conference in, Portland, OR, in June; and to present at the 12th Annual National Youth-At-Risk Conference, in Savannah, GA, in March 2001.

--Approved a request of Dr. Susan Opt for a travel grant ($600) to present at the Popular Culture Association Convention, in Philadelphia, PA, in April 2001.

--Approved a request of Dr. Linda Wilmshurst for a travel grant ($1,100) to present at the 14th Annual Research Conference A System of Care for Children's Mental Health, in Tampa, FL, in February 2001.

Retreat items

--Reviewed curricular changes

--Approved application of policy on transfer issues.

--Discussed online support needs and budget priorities for Academic Affairs.

--Reviewed table of program changes sought by UHD and UHCL.

--Reviewed updated Faculty Salary Plan and concluded approximately 2/3rd of the available raise pool should be in merit and the remaining portion in equity.

--Increased pay scale for part-time faculty.

--Agreed on recommended revision and increase in M&O formula for the academic schools.

--Discussed need for increase in administrative stipend for deans (which has not been increased in seven years).

--Postponed consideration of other agenda items.
