Academic Council Minutes, June 12, 2000

Instructional Technology Plan:

--Reviewed and discussed plan and made some adjustments.  Provost will distribute plan to faculty.

Student Appeal:

--Approved student appeal to remain under the same catalog despite a hiatus in her degree work.

Faculty Development Grants:

--Approved a request of Dr. Mel Damodaran for a travel grant ($900.00) to present at the 2000 International Association for Computer Information Systems Conference in Las Vegas, NV, in October.

--Approved a request of Dr. Gayla Lawson for a travel grant ($523.00) to present at the Quality Education Systems' 6th Annual National Learning Styles Conference in Dallas, TX, in June.

--Approved a request of Dr. Harold Smith for a research grant ($288.00) to conduct research at the Texas State Archives.

--Accepted reports on grant-funded conference travel from Dr. Gayla Lawson, Ms. Jane Mims, Dr. Mary Natividad, Dr. Barba Patton, Dr. Cindy Schnebly, and Dr. Sandy Venneman.
