Student Appeals

Denied:

--Request of student to be awarded a B.A. without having to complete the Foreign Language requirement.

--Request of student to march before having completed requirements for graduation.

Faculty Development Grants

Approved:

--Request of Dr. Roy Foley for a travel grant ($900) to participate in a panel presentation at the ASCD Annual Conference in New Orleans, LA, in March.

--Request of Dr. Yong Glasure for a travel grant ($900) to present at the 75th Annual Western Economic Association International Conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, in June.

--Request of Dr. Cindy Schnebly for a travel grant ($750) to present at the Midwestern Conference on Film, Language, and Literature, in DeKalb, IL, in March.

Accepted:

--Reports on grant-funded conference travel and research from Dr. Dennis Riedesel, Dr. Steve Trowbridge, and Ms. Tina Herrington.

Carried Forward Items

--Postponed discussion on the standardized tests at the Library Media Center.

--Reviewed and revised language for schedules on rosters. Identified courses for prerequisite checks.

Fort Bend and CampusNet

--Discussed need for additional staffing to support anticipated programs at West Houston Institute--particularly in admission and financial aid.

--Discussed need to have written articulation agreements between lead and support institutions.

--Agreed to ask representatives from Administration and Finance to meet on use of the new institutional credit card for travel, since the faculty do most of the travel and efficiency in processing expenses is important.
