The Giving Tree
During the month of December, the UHV Student Senate will sponsor The Giving Tree and encourage faculty, staff, students, and community members to donate goods to non-profit organizations in the community.
This year, the UHV Student Senate will be sponsoring three organizations: Mid-Coast Family Services, Crossroads Youth and Family Services and Adopt-A-Pet. Items such as the following are being requested for Mid-Coast Family Services and Crossroads Youth and Family Services: Prepaid phone cards, umbrellas, raincoats, socks (all sizes), clothing (all sizes), diapers, toothpaste, deodorant, hair dryers, curling irons, alarm clocks, bedding, and towels. For Adopt-A-Pet the following items are being requested: paper towels, fabric softener, high efficiency laundry detergent, air fresheners, brooms, anti-bacterial soap, cotton balls, q-tips, animal beds, canned dog/cat food, pet treats, pet taxis, Ziploc bags and trash bags.
UHV faculty, staff, students, and community members will be able to contribute to the “Giving Tree” drive by bringing unwrapped donations to University Center and placing the items under the tree through December 15, 2008.
