FOR PEOPLESOFT STUDENT ADMIN TRAINING
Required Security Form for PS Access:
All UHV staff and administrative end users must complete and submit the two-page PeopleSoft Student Administration Security Form in order to gain access to the new PS Student Admin system. The directions detailed below are at the top of the first page of the form.
Complete the top parts of the form, read and sign the attached Confidentiality Statement, and return the form to your supervisor. The form should be scanned by your department business administrator and emailed to peoplesofttraining@uh.edu .
Before you can access PeopleSoft:
1. You must enter your emplid (employee ID/PeopleSoft ID). Forms without a valid emplid, supervisor signature and department business administrator signature will not be processed. The second page Confidentiality Statement must be signed.
2. Functional access will be granted based on completed pre-requisite training.
3. Give this form to your department business administrator or your manager. Call the PeopleSoft Student Admin Customer Service Center at 713-743-0356 if you have any questions regarding this form.

Even though PeopleSoft went live March 5, you will continue to conduct Spring 07 and Summer 07 business in the old ADMIN system. The trainings will be scheduled so that you will learn what you need for PeopleSoft viewing or transactions before you need to do them.

All current users of the ADMIN system at UHV are now invited to sign up for one of the initial training steps.
1. Experiencing Change is an optional first step for training for all future PeopleSoft Student Administration users. Experiencing Change is a half-day workshop that provides a common vocabulary that will be used throughout all PS Student Admin trainings, as well as strategies for dealing with change. This workshop can be arranged by request for groups only. See below.
2. INTRO to PS Student Admin is now available for current ADMIN users ONLINE (time needed: approximately 2 hours, may be taken parts at a time) . INTRO teaches the basic structure and navigation for the application, including, for example, PS terminology, Academic Structure, Effective Dating, and Search/Match. This training is interactive. INTRO to PS Student Admin is mandatory for all ADMIN users. For information on taking INTRO online, click here.
3. Role-based Training (length varies—half-day hands on sessions or short demo sessions) teaches the basic processes of the End User’s specific area. All PeopleSoft trainees at UHV must attend training in order to receive access. (Sessions underway at UHV, based on when various functionalities are needed.) Schedules are provided in the PS Student Admin Training Newsletter.
Note: Faculty who do not have administrative job responsibilities carried out in ADMIN have a different training path (see Timeline & Training on this site). Students also have a different path.
