Changes to Expect
How will the PeopleSoft Student Administration implementation affect you?
……if you’re a student, you’ll enjoy a new self-service portal that organizes online services available to you. Since PeopleSoft is entirely browser-based, you’ll be able to access more information and services more efficiently from any internet-connected computer.
……if you’re a faculty member, you’ll be able to enter your grades online. You’ll also be able to pull rosters for your classes during the semester and during various registration cycles using your browser. Faculty will receive training for entering grades in November 2007 within their own Schools.
……if you’re an academic administrator, you’ll be able to get more data, more accurately. Working with the Office of Institutional Research, individuals around the universities will receive Query training later in the year to learn to use the more sophisticated integrated databases in PeopleSoft to extract the data they used to pull from RARDAT and other systems.
……if you’re a staff member who’s been using the old ADMIN system, you’ll receive training and lots of post-go-live support to learn the processes you need to do your job in PeopleSoft. Training will roll out before each new functionality is needed throughout the coming year, with opportunities to play with the software from your own desktop, to see online documentation, call a PeopleSoft Student Admin Help Desk, or refer to manuals and job aids.
