General Information
Audit Student Registration
Approval to audit or visit a course is permitted, subject to completion
of an audit application, seating availability and approval by the course
instructor or school dean. Auditing normally conveys only the privilege
of observing and does not include submitting papers, taking tests or
participating in laboratories or fieldwork. An audition student will
pay resident tuition and fee rates. Late registration fees are not
charged. Audit application forms can be obtained from the Bursar’s
Office. Academic credit is not given for an audited course.
Emergency Closure or Partial Closure of Campus
Students are
encouraged to listen to any of the television and radio stations for
information on the status of the university during a weather emergency. Student should use discretion in determining when or if they can safely
commute to and from the campus. The Office of University Advancement
will keep media notified throughout any weather crisis to make sure the
information reaches the university community in a timely manner. Student inquiries concerning campus closings can be made to the
UH-Victoria switchboard at (361) 570-4848 or the Office of Student
Relations at (361) 570-4135.
FINAL GRADES:
You may access your grades via
PeopleSoft.
Important !
Grade reports are not automatically sent to students at the end of
the semester. Students may use the Web system to
check if their grades have been posted for the semester. A paper copy
will be available for a limited time after grades are available.
Students needing a hard copy of their grade report must request one. (Enrollment Service/Inquiry section, Option 4 – grade
inquiry). Students can request a grade report for the current semester
only, and are limited to one grade report per semester.
Mixed Program Petitions
Graduate students who wish to receive
undergraduate credit for courses and undergraduate students within 12
semester hours of graduation at this institution who wish to receive
graduate credit must secure a Course Credit Petition from the Office of
Admissions and Records. The petition must be returned to the same office
as soon as possible after payment of tuition and fees.
NOTE: Courses
numbered 6000 are limited to graduate students, post baccalaureate
students, and seniors in their final 12 semester hours that wish to take
courses for graduate credit.
Prerequisites
It is important to ensure that you have
met any prerequisites listed for each of your courses. Course
enrollments will be reviewed on a selective basis during the first half
of the term. Students without proper prerequisites will be dropped from
the course, unless the instructor gives written permission for them to
remain.
Release of Public Information
Public information includes a student’s
home address, local address, local telephone number, e-mail address,
date of birth, photograph, classification, major, dates of attendance,
degree, if any, and date. If a student does not wish for this public
information to be released, the student is responsible for notifying the
Office of Admissions and Records during the first week of classes to
ensure that the university does not release information. “Request
to Withhold Public Information” forms are available online and can
be faxed to the Admissions & Records office. A request made to withhold
public information remains in effect until revoked in writing.
Exception: E-mail addresses for students who enroll in online courses
will be available to faculty, staff and students for the purpose of
delivering online courses.

or on campus.
