Coffee with the Dean
Nursing students put down their stethoscope and nursing care plan books to
meet with Dr. Kathryn Tart, founding dean of the School of Nursing, yesterday at
the Victoria campus and today at the Sugar Land campus.
"The students are the heart and soul of our school," said Dr. Tart "They need
to be heard and I am always here to listen."
The event, known as "Coffee with the Dean," gives students the opportunity to
meet with Dr. Tart to share their thoughts, ideas and concerns.
Dr. Tart said," There was a good turn out on both campuses with graduate and
undergraduate students. It's fun to just sit down, take time to listen and be
available for students."
Students also found out about new scholarship opportunities, pinning and graduation events, upcoming CCNE accreditation visit and professional responsibilities with regard to licensure.
Student said " Dr. Tart listen about their clinical and classroom issues one to one and it was a great way for students to personally interact with the Dean."
