Welcome to the UHV School of Nursing site where we incorporate cutting-edge research and medical practices while encouraging lifelong learning. We offer the following programs for those interested in becoming a registered nurse or advancing their nursing careers.
The School of Nursing offers admission to the RN to BSN program in the Spring and Summer semesters at the Sugar Land campus; and Spring semesters at the Victoria campus.
The Second Degree BSN program was approved on July 17, 2008. Classes for this program will begin Fall 2008 at the Sugar Land campus only. Deadline for application to this program is August 1, 2008. The next anticipated admission to this program will be Spring 2010.
The Second Degree Bachelors program is a twelve-month intensive full-time program for people holding bachelors or masters degrees in other fields who want to become registered nurses (RNs). This program is designed to facilitate a career change for the more mature and experienced student .Currently offered only on the Sugar land Campus.
The Master's programs in nursing prepare professional nurses for leadership roles in a rapidly changing society. Through graduate study, students acquire and systematically apply knowledge and skills in nursing practice, nursing research, and advanced nursing role. Students may choose a focus in education (* Pending Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board approval) or administration. This program is offered on both Sugar Land as well as Victoria campus.
The School of Nursing offers admission to the MSN and the RN to MSN Bridge program Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters at both the Sugar Land and Victoria campuses.
