Directions for Accepting/Declining Financial Aid Awards

PeopleSoft Self Service enables you to check your admissions status, register, check your financial aid, and pay your tuition. These directions walk you through accepting/declining financial aid awards.

We recommend that you use Mozilla Firefox as your browser

for PeopleSoft Self Service. Mozilla Firefox is available as a free download at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/.

Important

Note that your awards are not automatically credited to your account. You must accept and/or decline the awards once they have been awarded.

Processing can take up to five business days. Check your UHV email account frequently. You will receive information about your award status via UHV student email.

Accepting and/or declining financial aid awards takes ten steps. If you accept a Federal Stafford Loan, you’ll have one additional step to ensure that your loan is processed correctly. This step takes place outside of PeopleSoft and is described in the Important Information box below.

Step 1: Log in to PeopleSoft Self Service and choose UHV Self Service.

Haven’t logged into PeopleSoft Self Service before? We suggest that you start by reading the directions on how to log in to PeopleSoft Self Service.

Step 2: Choose Financial Aid in the Learner Services area. (The Financial Aid icon may appear in a different location on your screen than in the example below.)

Step 3: Choose Accept/Decline Awards.

Step 4: Next, you’ll be prompted to read the Student Disclosure. Once you’ve read the student disclosure, choose OK.
