Directions for Searching for Classes: Example of Search for Classes

Let’s consider an example:

Let’s say that you need to take ENG 3430: Professional Writing this semester.

In the Course Subject drop down menu, you’ll choose ENG as the subject. Since you know the specific course (the course number), you’ll type 3430 in the Course Number area.

You decide to Show Open Classes Only (the default selection) since you’re not interested in classes that are already full. You then choose Search at the bottom of the screen.




We’ll talk about the search results in a moment, but notice that we could have selected Additional Search Criteria. We could have chosen to search for ENG 3430 classes that will be held on Monday, or for ENG 3430 classes that are taught by Jaeckle, or for ENG 3430 classes that are taught online (by choosing Internet in Mode of Instruction).

Let’s go back to our search. We’re now at step 3.
