The Communications team within the department seeks to maximize media coverage of the university, its people and programs by cultivating relationships with reporters and editors and assisting media members in their duties. The department works with the media in accessing information about the university and the expertise of faculty and staff members.
The unit also writes copy for all marketing communication opportunities including print ads, direct mail pieces, brochures, and radio and television spots. In addition, the unit writes and distributes news releases, UHV in the News, and the weekly UHV NewsWire.
Communications seeks to spread a positive message about the achievements of UHV and its faculty, staff and students, both internally and externally. Writers also are available to assist members of the university community in preparing articles and other marketing presentations.
