University Resources to Assist Faculty Research
The library offers the following services for faculty conducting research:
To serve the patrons of the Library in the best possible way, the Library is committed to cooperation and the sharing of resources with other libraries
in the city, region, state, and nation.
A professional reference librarian is available at all times to assist in the use of the Reference collection. Another library service is Interlibrary Loan,
which provides access to thirteen million titles in over 2,000 libraries through the OCLC computer network. The library has an automated circulation system,
an automated catalog, and a CD-ROM network. The CD-ROM network gives faculty access to many bibliographic databases covering many disciplines.
The Academic Center offers the following assistance to faculty in writing scholarly papers:

An IBM or equivalent personal computer and printer have been installed on each faculty office for faculty use. Faculty
personal computers are upgraded or replaced every three years. All staff have similar equipment. All computers are connected via
a local area network (LAN), and faculty computers have access to the AS9000 on the UH campus. The Office of Information Technology
and Instructional Support Services regularly offer faculty and staff training.
