LEAD Initiative
UHV’s Letting Education Achieve Dreams (LEAD) Initiative was established to raise educational attainment levels in the Victoria area. LEAD promotes higher education especially among underserved, underrepresented, and nontraditional student prospects. For potential students, LEAD provides step by step assistance with navigating university processes, including admissions and financial aid applications, scholarship applications, degree information, and mentoring. LEAD connects students to university resources, information, activities, and organizations. LEAD also supports student life and welfare by hosting educational, cultural, and fundraising programs and events designed to engage all aspects of the community, increase UHV enrollment, and provide scholarships for students. Additionally, LEAD works with area businesses to create programs that will allow adult workers to return to school to finish degrees, resulting in a more qualified, skilled workforce for the region.
The Letting Education Achieve Dreams (LEAD) program is one of many services that the University of Houston-Victoria has to offer for anyone in need of educational guidance and information. Think of us as a one stop hub where your questions are our business. Many of you are wondering “how do I get financial assistance for my children” or “how hard would it be to finish my degree at my age?” Trust us; your dilemmas are the same issues that each one of our staff members had encountered. We’ve been there! This is why we want to help.
The UHV LEAD program is designed to personally assist prospective students through the beginning efforts of the application process ,seeking out financial relief and setting up appointments with advising. We not only help you to get admitted but also ensure that your needs are met while attending UHV.
