What is a Listserv
A listserv is an electronic mailing list. A mailing
list is a list of people's email addresses that is
used to send certain messages or announcements to many
people at once. The group of people on a particular
listserv usually share a common interest in the
contents of the message. Most mailing lists are open
whereby individuals may sign up or subscribe
themselves to the list. Other lists are not open. The
owner or manager of the list may control who is
subscribed to the list.
Student-L Listserv
The purpose of the STUDENT-L listserv is to
disseminate official university information to UHV
students. Email messages posted to this listserv will
relate to basic university services, including
admissions, career planning and placement, financial
aid, student financials, student relations, academic
support services, and campus safety. This will be the
university's official means of communicating this
information to you, the student; therefore, you are
responsible for reading and responding to listserv
messages as indicated in a given message.
Student email accounts are automatically subscribed to
the UH-Victoria STUDENT-L mailing list. Postings to
the STUDENT-L listserv are restricted to key UHV
personnel.
