Library Databases
The VC/UHV Library uses your UHV student account to authenticate your off-campus access to the library databases. Student accounts also provide access to student email and on-site access to the computer labs. Although Student accounts use MyUHV IDs for usernames, student accounts are separate from Blackboard accounts and MyUHV accounts. Each is a separate and distinct account.
In order to access the library databases from off-campus, you must activate your student account by changing your password. When your account is created, your initial password is set to your date of birth and is pre-expired. A pre-expired password means that you must change your password in order to use your account. Passwords can be changed on-site in the labs or remotely via the email server. Thereafter, you will be required to change your password every 160 days.
To login and change your password remotely, Login to Student Email.

Review the Student Accounts information to determine your username and default password.

Review the Web Login Instructions for the proper procedure to login and change your password.

Connect to the student email server to Login to Student Email and change your password.

Once you have changed your password proceed to Library Databases.
