Contact Hours

Another sign for incorporation of technological advances is the addition of training classes for these technologies. In 1993, the Computer Center offered relatively little training. In response to changing technology and higher demand, training increased dramatically in the 1994 –1995 academic year. That year, 44 training sessions were offered. Session topics included the following: Introduction, Intermediate, and Advanced WordPerfect; Introduction and Immediate Lotus; Email; Gopher; Internet Tools; and Buying a Personal Computer. As seen in this table, the kinds of training offered has adapted to shifts in software use. In addition, the kinds and amount of training needed have changed because many employees currently hired have previous computer experience.
