Logging in Via the Web


The basic steps to login to web-based email is as follows:

From your web browser, use the following link to connect to the email server:

https://mail.uhv.edu/exchange

You may also connect to the email server from the UHV home page by clicking on the UHV Student E-Mail icon.

Review the "Login Quick Tip" information displayed on the screen and then click on Login to Email to continue.

You may see security information messages displayed. Click Continue to proceed with the login process.

In the example that follows, "your-username" is your seven-digit MyUHV ID number.

Enter the information as follows:

Username: uhv\your-username  You must enter "uhv\" in front of your username.
      Password: your password If you have never logged in before, your password will be mmddyyx!


When you are logging in for the very first time or if your password has expired, the Internet Service Manager screen will be displayed. Enter the following:


Account: uhv\your-username

Old Password: the password you just used to login

New Password restrictions or conditions:

  • The password is at least eight characters long
  • The password contains characters from each of the following three categories:
    • Alphabetic characters, uppercase or lowercase (A - Z, a - z)
    • Base 10 digits (0 - 9)
    • Special Characters: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( )

  • The password cannot contain the user's account name or parts of the user's full name that exceed two consecutive characters.

Confirmation: new password again

Click on OK


From this point you can Login to Student Email, Access Library Databases, or use other network resources

Logging Off


It is very important that you log off when you have completed your email session. If you do not log off correctly, others may gain access to your email.


Log off by clicking on the "Log Off" icon on the upper right side of your screen.
