[ Nov 22nd ] Important notice! The UHV web site will be down this Friday, Nov. 25th, for network maintenance (~8am - 5pm). To access WebCT Vista while our web site is down, you will need to connect directly to the Vista server at http://scholar.uh.edu and then click on the UH-Victoria institution and log in as usual.
  • [ Oct 27th ] Yesterday some users may have experienced performance problems while using Vista, or were not able to log in or navigate successfully. We have been researching the problems along with WebCT and today the system appears back to normal. We will continue to monitor and troubleshoot the cause of these problems. Please report any new problems to your Online Support Technician. Also, notify your instructor and contact the support technician if an exam or assignment was interrupted due to the outages.
  • [ Oct 27th ] Yesterday afternoon we discovered that mail in Vista was not being delivered. Mail that was created was not lost, but was held in queue until we restarted the system this morning. All mail from yesterday was delivered successfully and mail operation is now functioning properly.
  • [ Sep 27th 8:00am ] UHV has resumed normal business operations as of this morning, September 27th at 7.00 a.m. Classes will resume today. Note, however, that UHS Sugar Land and UHS Cinco Ranch will follow the UH restart scheme and report for work at noon on Wednesday, September 28th with normal business operations and classes resuming on Thursday morning September 29th. WebCT Vista is up and operational, so you may access your online courses at any time.
  • [ Sep 21st 1:00pm ] UHV Announces Hurricane Closings - University of Houston-Victoria, the University of Houston System at Sugar Land and the University of Houston System at Cinco Ranch will close at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2005. • [ Sep 16th 5:00pm ] Vista was updated with a new service pack during this morning's maintenance in order to keep Vista current with the latest security patches and provide some minor feature enhancements and bug fixes. As a result, users will need to make sure their Java is updated. Vista now requires that users have Java version 1.4.2_06 or higher. Older versions will result in users getting an error message in the browser checker when they log in to Vista. Please check your Java version and update if necessary. If you have any problems, please contact your Online Support Technician.
  • [ Sep 14th 7:15am ] Vista maintenance is complete. Please report any problems that may occur to your Online Support Technician.
  • [ Sep 13th 5:45pm ] Vista will be unavailable tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept 14th, from 6:00am - 7:00am in order to perform emergency maintenance that addresses residual problems from the network issues occurring over the weekend. Please DO NOT log in to Vista during this time.
  • [ Sep 12th 8:00am ] Unfortunately the UH network continued to have problems again later Friday evening (about 6:45pm - 11:00pm) and Saturday morning/afternoon (about 9:00am - 2:00pm). You may have experienced disconnects or very slow performance during these times. Network access was again restored about 2:00pm Saturday. Although Vista was up and running, access to and performance in Vista was poor due to the network problems on the UH campus. UH technicians are taking steps to resolve these persistent problems. Please contact your Online Support Technician to assist you if you were cutoff during an exam or assignment during the affected times.
  • [ Sep 9th 5:30pm ] The UH network access appears to be back on track, so you should now be able to access Vista successfully.
  • [ Sep 9th 3:30pm ] UH is currently having network problems which may affect access to WebCT and other resources on the UH network. Their technicians are working to resolve the problems as quickly as possible. If you cannot access Vista now, please try again later. We will post an update when we have more information.
  • [ Aug 30th ] Vista maintenance was completed this morning and things also appear to be back on track with the UH network. Please report any problems to your Online Support Technicians.
  • [ Aug 29th ] Emergency maintenance will be performed on WebCT Vista from 6:00 am to 7:00 am Tuesday, August 30. Vista will be unavailable during this time while the Vista system is restarted to recover from UH network problems encountered since Friday evening. Please do not try to log in to Vista during this time.
  • [ Aug 26th ] The UH network may experience some downtime this afternoon between 5:30pm - 6:00pm. They are performing preventative maintenance on system-wide internet access to prevent problems experienced recently. This may affect access to any system on the UH network, including WebCT Vista. As a precaution, you should consider avoiding doing any critical work in Vista during this time, e.g., taking a quiz, submitting an assignment, etc.
  • [ Aug 25th ] Vista maintenance was completed this morning and the system appears to be back on track. Please report any recurring problems to your Online Support Technician.
