Planning your WebQuest
A well-planned WebQuest has guidance for the students, an
imaginative and flexible project, and a set of web links that
provide the information/content for the task.
There are hundreds of WebQuests already developed on the
web, however the best WebQuests are those that are specifically
tailored to your curriculum and students. WebQuests have been
developed for all age groups, K-12 through graduate level.
Always check any previously created WebQuest to ensure the
information and tasks are relevant and that all of the links
are working.
Before creating your first WebQuest, search through existing
ones. Note what you like and dislike about them. Look for
creative, exciting projects that you may be able to adapt
to your course. You can get some great ideas from the many
WebQuests already created. Also, if you would like to use
an existing WebQuest, please request permission from the original
author to use their material. Many WebQuests are available
for use freely in education, however, it is always good practice
to obtain permission before using. The author's name and/or
email address is usually provided somewhere within the WebQuest.
