Technology and Tools
A variety of resources exist to improve and enhance online
course development. Faculty are encouraged to visit this section
frequently to keep informed about available, new technology
resources.
WebCT offers a variety of tools that are designed to help
faculty develop and manage their online classroom. Since both
faculty and students interact with these tools, ISS continually
creates resources that help faculty both use and train students
to use the available tools within WebCT.
As online instruction grows, new technologies to enhance
that instruction also continues to become available. ISS and
the Faculty Advisory Committee on Technology (FACT) review
new technologies for use with WebCT. UHV has acquired several
new software packages that can be used to enhance online course
content.
So, how do you keep up with the latest news and information
about online learning? You could spend hours filtering through
the hundreds of resources that are available in books, journals,
and articles. And, there are many more resources on the web,
especially with active listservs and discussion boards. We
have compiled a list of resources that we hope will help you
to get started and we will continue to keep this list updated
as we research and discover new information.
