Guidelines

The following is the approved procedure for the Summer Flex Schedule:

 

1)      The program allows regular, full-time employees the opportunity to work a flexible schedule.  The schedule is not an entitlement, but rather a privilege that can be granted by supervisors if unit workload obligations can be met.

 

2)      The 2008 Summer Flex Schedule will begin Wednesday, May 14th and end August 5th to coincide with bi-weekly payroll accounting.  The summer work schedule will not result in any extra overtime costs.

 

3)      The standard work week will consist of four 9-hour days with hours set as 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday – Thursday and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Fridays with the following exceptions.

 

a.       Employees will have to work 5 hours on Friday, May 23th due to   

the Memorial Day holiday on May 26th.

 

b.       The week of July 4th, (July 2 – July 8) supervisors will determine the necessary work schedule to maintain a 40 hour week due to the July 4th holiday falling on Friday.

 

4)      Any employees who deviate from the summer Flex Schedule will be required to submit an approved alternate Work Schedule Request form to the Human resources Office.

 

5)      The following offices will maintain the standard 8 hour day schedule, Monday through Friday.

 

a.       President’s office

b.      University Switchboard

c.       Information Technology Help Desk
