Student Handbook 2012-2013
Welcome to the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV)! You have made a good choice in deciding to attend UHV to further your academic and personal development. Over the years, you will enjoy many new experiences and challenges both within and outside the UHV classroom.
Our role in Student Affairs is to help you expand your learning environment. You can become actively involved in your UHV learning community by joining one of the many student organizations, seeking student employment at UHV or in the Victoria community, or volunteering to help in the many events and activities supported and sponsored by the university. This type of involvement strengthens your individual skills and contributes to the rich environment students, faculty, and staff appreciate and enjoy at UHV. Our diverse university community offers you many opportunities for involvement in all aspects of college life. We encourage you to get engaged with your university, faculty and staff, and with your classmates.
As a UHV student, you can also help continue to build the kind of learning community we all want by letting us know what we are doing well and where we can improve. Take advantage of the opportunity to have a voice at UHV and complete the student surveys distributed throughout the academic year. We also have a student problem-solving form you can use anytime to ask for help. This form is located on the current students’ page of the UHV website. Talk to us…your voice at UHV is important!
Again, welcome to UHV! To help ensure your success, familiarize yourself with the UHV Student Handbook and become a proactive partner in your educational endeavors. We appreciate the opportunity to participate in your developmental experience.
