TimeGate UHV Certificate of Gaming

This certificate is offered in Victoria and Online. (Starting Fall 2013)

As one of the first of its kind in the nation, the TimeGate-UHV Certificate of Gaming is a post-baccalaureate certificate available through the private-public partnership between the University of Houston-Victoria and TimeGate Studios Inc. This certificate provides the participants with a path to utilize the university’s educational resources and the industry’s professional resources in the popular field of Digital Gaming and Simulation to establish their professional career.

The recipients of the certificate will receive a comprehensive study plan of Digital Gaming and Simulation coursework. In order to secure the certificate, upon the completion of the required 15 credits, the participants will take part in a comprehensive examination. The comprehensive exam may include on-site interviews at TimeGate Studios, comprehensive tests, and game development projects. The certificates will be presented to the recipients by the School of Arts and Sciences.

Certificate Eligiblity

Post Baccalaureate

The TimeGate-UHV certificate is a post-baccalaureate certificate awarded to students with a degree of Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science who complete the certificate requirements.

Undergraduate Eligibility

Undergraduate senior students may be eligible to start their coursework towards the TimeGate-UHV Certificate if they meet the following criteria:

  1. Be enrolled in the BAAS or BSCS in Digital Gaming and Simulation programs at the University of Houston-Victoria and within 12 credit hours of graduation
  2. Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  3. Finish the remaining credit hours as a post-baccaureate student
