SUBJECT: POSTING OF Materials

POLICY

The University of Houston-Victoria allows the posting and distribution of information of general interest to students. However, posting or distribution of material on the UHV campus does not imply endorsement or liability for material contents on the part of the University.

PROCEDURE

The following procedures apply to community and student organization materials which are posted or distributed on the UHV campus. University employees can post materials of interest to students with supervisor approval. Employees are responsible for removing materials when they are no longer relevant.

All community and student organization materials must be brought to the Office of Student Life & Services (SLS) to be date-stamped and posted. Unstamped postings will be removed by (SLS) personnel. Any posting that is more than one month old will be taken down unless prior arrangements are made with SLS.

Material will not be posted that is determined to be obscene, libelous, or advocate the deliberate violation of a federal or state law or published university policy.

Material of a commercial nature will not be posted or distributed. (i.e. Individuals, companies, or businesses would not be allowed to post notices for a profitable enterprise. An individual selling a personal computer, bicycle, dog, etc. would be allowed to post a notice, but an individual selling Amway, Avon, magazine subscriptions, etc. would not.)

For information about posting and/or distribution of materials at UHS Cinco Ranch, contact the administrative offices for approval.

For information about posting and/or distribution of materials at UH Sugar Land, contact the reception desk in room 119 for approval.

Materials will not be posted on exterior fixtures of any sort, or on vehicles.
