SUBJECT: GRANT REQUEST
POLICY
The originator of a grant proposal, early in the process of proposal development, should seek preliminary approval and obtain appropriate signatures to ensure the institution can be supportive should the grant be awarded. The Administration and Finance Office
must also be informed of the preliminary proposal in order to inform the Legislative Budget Board of any federal grants in process and determine the fiscal feasibility of the grant proposal.
PROCEDURE
The originator completes the External Grant Proposal Routing Sheet (
Attachment A
) and obtains the applicable approval signatures.
The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs shall be the central repository for External Grant Proposal Routing Sheets having to do with research and instruction. All other grant proposals will be retained in the Office of University
Advancement.
REVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITY
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs shall be the responsible party for the External Grant Proposal Routing Sheet.
The Grants Coordinator will report governmental grants received and the Office
of University Advancement will report all non-governmental grants to the UH
System on a periodic basis as determined by the UH System.
