SUBJECT: GRANT REQUEST
The originator of a grant proposal, early in the process of proposal development, should seek preliminary approval and obtain appropriate signatures to ensure the institution can be supportive should the grant be awarded.
The originator completes the External Grant Proposal Routing Sheet (Attachment A) and obtains the applicable approval signatures.
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) shall be the central repository for External Grant Proposal Routing Sheets. A copy of grant proposal routing sheets involving corporations, foundations, and/or non-profit organizations will be retained by ORSP and the original will be sent to the Office of University Advancement.
REVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITY
By the authority of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the ORSP shall be the responsible party for the External Grant Proposal Routing Sheet.
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will report grant requests to federal, state, private and local agencies and the Office of University Advancement will report all corporation, foundation and/or non-profit grant requests to the UH System on a periodic basis as determined by the UH System.
