FY06-Sugar Land/Cinco Ranch Mail Service
Procedures Effective September 1, UHV will also begin
serving as the administrative manager for the Cinco Ranch operations.
With the beginning of a new fiscal year upon us, it is a good time to go
over mail service procedures for Cinco Ranch and Sugar Land. 2. Mailouts to Cinco Ranch will be sent daily if there is any official mail. (Otherwise, low priority mail such as vendor brochures and similar vendor mailings will be sent in the next mailout.) Regardless, there will be a minimum of 3 mailouts per week to Cinco Ranch (Mon/Wed/Fri). 3. All mail to Sugar Land and Cinco Ranch ships via UPS Ground to manage costs. Currently, UPS delivers to Sugar Land daily in the afternoon around 3 pm. All mail shipped via UPS Ground from either Sugar Land or Cinco Ranch will arrive in Victoria the next business day, usually by 11a.m. 4. Departments are asked to inform faculty in Cinco Ranch and Sugar Land that students needing to send class-related materials should contact their respective school directly. Then the School can collect the student materials and forward via interoffice mail to Mail Services for mailout. 5. Who Pays? The Business Services Shipping and Freight cost center will absorb the cost of inter-campus mail coming from Victoria: Presently, shipping charges for books mailed |
by publishers to faculty stationed in Sugar Land or Cinco Ranch will be billed back to the department. Departments requesting special shipping, other than normal UPS ground, will be accommodated, however actual shipping charges will be billed back to the department for those services. 6. The department should inform publishers of correct faculty addresses to have those types of materials direct shipped in the future and to avoid the double handling of those types of materials. If you have any questions please contact either Larry Steen or Susie Motal in Business Services MySafeCampus Anonymous Reporting System The State of Texas has a strong interest in uncovering fraud and regulatory abuse. Governor Rick Perry’s Executive Order, RP36, relating to preventing, detecting and eliminating fraud and waste recommends as a best practice that state agencies and universities have a way for employees to report fraud anonymously. This is a reminder that the university has a system in place for employees to report allegations of fraud or other regulatory compliance issues anonymously and confidentially. Reports may be made either online by visiting www.MySafeCampus.com or by calling the toll-free number, 1-800-716-9007. MySafeCampus is not affiliated in any way with the University of Houston System. This reporting system supplements UHS SAM 01.C.04 Reporting/Investigating Fraudulent Acts and UHV Policy C-8, Employee Code of Conduct, which also address confidential reporting of fraud and noncompliance allegations to the university. This program is part of UHV’s campus Institutional Compliance program to promote and support a culture of compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Visit our Institutional Compliance website for more information. |
