Priority Deadlines for UHV Staff Scholarship Applications. UHV staff employees interested in applying for a UHV Staff Employee Scholarship for the 2005 Summer session must complete the 2005-06 UHV Financial Aid & Scholarship Application, if not already submitted, and the 2006 Summer Anticipated Enrollment Form. The priority deadline for summer applications is March 2006. To Apply for UHV Staff Employee Scholarships for the Fall 2006 and Spring 2007 semesters, applications must be received by April 15, 2006, to meet the priority deadline. To apply, complete the 2006-07 Scholarship Application and submit it to the Office of Financial Aid. Be sure to include the Student Certification Form with your submission of the scholarship application. Please indicate that you are a UHV staff employee on the front page of the application so that we can key your application properly. Applications are available on-line or in the Office of Financial Aid. Applications are also available on the Cinco Ranch and Sugar Land locations.
Mail Services to debut new website - Mail Services is going to have its own web page very soon. Information on Bulk Mail, U.S. Postal Services, overnight delivery services and much more should be more easily available to our users. The site should be up and running by the end of February. Campus Security is offering two training session dealing with Safety this Spring. If you are interested in attending either session below, submit your RSVP to ext. 612. Identifying/Preventing Workplace Violence Learn about the causes and sources of workplace violence, and examine a profile of people who commit workplace violence. Bomb threats will also be covered, including what to do when a bomb threat is received and how to search the work area for such devices. In addition, information will be provided on communication with a potentially violent person, what management and employees can do to reduce the chances of violent acts, and suggestions for personal safety. University of Houston-Victoria Anger and Conflict in the Workplace This course contains general information about the different types of anger; the myths surrounding conflict; the different dimensions of conflict; how to maintain control during conflicts; and how to maintain positive relationships during and after conflicts. Managing conflicts could stop them from escalating into workplace violence. The goal is to help employees understand that anger is an everyday emotion and to help keep it under control.
