Here are some Travel Q&As for your information: Question: I've just had an accident in my rental car. What do I do? Answer: Check for injuries. Notify the nearest police station or call 911 if anyone is injured. If there are no injuries and the car is blocking traffic and can be driven, move your car out of the way, but do not leave the scene. Exchange information including name, address, phone, vehicle ID number, license plate number, vehicle description , and insurance information with other the driver involved in the accident. Get name, address, and phone numbers of any witnesses. If you have a camera with you, photograph the scene. Notify the car rental company of the accident. If possible within 24 hours, provide Risk Management in the Business Services department details of the accident.
Question: When should I call the police or highway patrol? Answer: Contact police or highway patrol when there are injuries, when the cars cannot be moved, when a driver is intoxicated, when a driver has no insurance, and/or if one of the drivers leaves the scene without exchanging information.
