Page 3 Budget Rolls Forward For FY2003
|
We are embarking on a new fiscal year as well as a new academic year. This fiscal year will be another busy one with the expansion of University West beginning in January 2003. The Texas Legislature also convenes beginning in January. Also this year, we are also anticipating that PeopleSoft Financial and Human Resources will be fully integrated into the daily operations, and PeopleSoft will be much easier to use. There will be upgrades to both PeopleSoft systems, which will become web-based applications, possible in late Summer or Fall of 2003. For four days in August, three auditors from the State Comptroller's Office came to UHV to conduct audits on travel, purchasing, accounts payable, human resources, and payroll. I am happy to report that we had very few error findings, much below the state average. I attribute this to the hard work demonstrated in all departments in following policies, procedures, and guidelines in those auditable areas. Please mark your calendars for the Administration and Finance Holiday Luncheon on Tuesday, December 17th at 11:30 p.m. in Room 115.
All UHV Faculty and Staff are invited. |
You can find out what cost center a departmental employee is funded from through PeopleSoft. Log into PeopleSoft HR/SA Production. Click on "GO," Define Budget Encumbrance (U.S.) Click on "SetUp", Department Budget Table then Department Budget Earnings Change SetID to 00797, enter the Fiscal Year 2003 and Position Number then click on Search. If the Position Number is not known, you may enter the Department (Example V0010 for Administration and Finance) and Fiscal Year then click search for listing of those positions in that department. Highlight the Position that you want then click "OK" At the bottom of the Department Budget Earnings Panel under Earnings Code is the funding for that position. If you need help, call Darlene Pullin, Budget Director at extension 850. |
