The UH Main Campus applied a fix to the Bb L9 Production environment, provided by Blackboard Support Engineers, to resolve the issue with the Full Grade Center taking as long as 10 minutes (or longer) to populate student data and grade column information in the Blackboard Grade Center. Not all UHV faculty and adjuncts were affected by the issue. The fix should also resolve the "Parsing Error" that faculty and adjuncts also reported seeing when trying to access the Full Grade Center. Please contact your Blackboard Technology Specialists (http://www.uhv.edu/elearning/contactus.aspx) if you are still encountering any issues.

UPDATE 04-11-2014 @ 8:00 AM – Blackboard Issues Resolved

04-10-2014 @ 1:00 PM – Blackboard Users Experiencing Collaboration Course Tool & Global Notification Issues

The UH Main Campus is investigating an issue in the Blackboard system where faculty and students are not able to use the "Collaboration" course tools. Users are also experiencing issues with the "Global Navigation Menu" items that appear in the upper, right-hand corner of the Blackboard page after logging in. So things like "Updates," "Posts," "Retention Center," and "My Grades"--from the upper, right-hand menu item--are not working and results are not displaying when these options are selected. Collaboration tools in online courses, such as "Virtual Classroom," "Chat," "Office Hours," etc. are not displaying properly and students and faculty see error messages. The UH Main Campus is investigating the issue with Blackboard Support and they hope to have the issue resolved soon. Currently, there is no "estimated time or resolution" available, so please re-visit this website for important updates and new information.

UPDATE 04-09-2014 @ 4:30 PM – Slow Performance & Connection Issue in Blackboard Resolved

The UH Main Campus states they have resolved the slow performance and connection issue with the Blackboard system and all users should now be able to log into the system and complete their online course tasks. Response times have returned to normal, and no additional service interruptions are expected. 04-09-2014 @ 1:00 PM – Blackboard Users Report Slow Performance Issues and Session Connection Timeouts

UH and UHV Blackboard users are reporting slow performance issues and session timeouts where it appears that the Blackboard system is taking a long time to respond to requests, including logins and/or their connection times out. When trying to log back into the system, the login appears to fail and they sometimes see the "webpage is not available" message. These performance issues are intermittent so it’s not possible to predict which users will counter slow performance and session timeouts. The UH Main Campus is investigating the issue and hopes to have it resolved soon. Please re-visit this website for additional updates and important information.

04-09-2014 @ 11:00 AM – UHV Blackboard System Service Interruption

The UH Main Campus is currently investigating an issue with the UHV Blackboard system. Users are currently unable to log into the system and those who have access are experiencing issues with slow performance and slow response times. Currently, there is no "estimated time of resolution" yet, but technicians and engineers are investigating and hope to have the issue resolved soon.

UPDATE 04-09-2014 @ 12:00 PM – Blackboard Services Have Been Restored – System Available to All Users

04-07-2014 @ 2:45 PM – Blackboard Users Report Issue Using Inline Grading Feature

UHV faculty and students have reported issues using the Inline Grading feature in the Blackboard Learn 9 system (a.k.a., "Crocodoc.") The Crocodoc vendor is aware of the issue and they are working to resolve the problem. The issue is not with our Blackboard system; it’s an issue occurring with the Crocodoc vendor, which is causing this feature to not work properly in the Blackboard system. We currently don’t have an "estimated time of resolution" from the Crocodoc vendor, but hope of have the issue resolved soon. Please re-visit this website for updates and other important information

UPDATE – 03-26-2014 @ 4:30 PM – "Parsing" Issue Partially Resolved – Blackboard Support Still Reviewing Information

Blackboard Support reports that they have improved the Full Grade Center performance in the Blackboard system and a partial resolution is in place. They are reporting that the problem seems to still be intermittent and they are continuing to investigate before providing a final resolution. UHV faculty and adjuncts should see improvement now with how long it takes for the Full Grade Center to appear in their Blackboard online courses and the "parsing" error message should no longer appear. Any UHV faculty who may still be experiencing issues should perform the following basic troubleshooting tips: (1) log out of the Blackboard system, (2) clear your browser’s cache (http://www.java.com/en/download/help/webcache.xml), (3) clear your Java cache (http://www.java.com/en/download/help/plugin_cache.xml, and (4) log back into the Blackboard system. You may also want to try logging in with a different browser. Any UHV faculty who still encounter issues after completing the basic troubleshooting steps depicted above should contact their UHV Technology Specialists for their school. Contact information is provided on the UHV Blackboard website at http://www.uhv.edu/elearning/contactus.aspx.

Blackboard Support has not yet been able to resolve the "parsing" error issue and/or long delay with the Blackboard "Full Grade Center" populating student results. They are working with their support team to identify the cause and propose a workaround and final solution. Currently, we don’t have an estimate from Blackboard Support as to when the issue will be completely resolved, and it appears not all UHV faculty and adjuncts are affected by the issue. We will continue to work with Blackboard to resolve the issue, and provide updates and other important information on this website, so please re-visit for additional information.
