Early Preparation for TExES Tests

Preparing for your series of TExES tests?

  1. Meet with your Faculty Advisor or with a degree counselor in the Teacher Education Records Office (TERO) to determine which TExES tests you are required to take and when you are required or advised to take the tests.
  2. Go to the TEA website, find the study guide for the test and make note of the competencies for the test.
  3. Develop a rubric where you have the competencies for the test listed and then record for future study any course subject matter that is related to that particular competency.
  4. Develop a study group during your first set of professional development courses that can periodically meet Face to Face or via some form of electronic media.
