Special Education

Welcome current and future students to the Special Education program home page. There is a growing need for professionals at all levels to work with individuals with disabilities in the schools, communities and public and private agencies. To fill this need we offer several opportunities for students who would like to build their careers around working with individuals with disabilities.

Through our undergraduate class offerings you can obtain certification as a special education teacher. We also have programs at the graduate level. We know students obtaining their master’s are typically working full time in the work force, or working full time at home raising families. We offer the Master’s of Education in Special Education as a completely online program to meet the needs of busy adults. Students who obtain the M.Ed. in Special Education, or who already have a Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field, can take additional hours to be certified as an Educational Diagnostician.
